This "expansion" assembly provides the means to expand the I/O capacity of the COMMANDER Base assembly in increments (files) of 14 I/O function cards.
The cardfile assembly includes a non-intelligent motherboard which extends the SimpleBUSS™™ in a daisy-chain fashion via an interconnecting ribbon cable. Up to three Expansion assemblies may be connected to any particular Base assembly, for a total capacity of 56 functional cards. Although 56 I/O cards are possible, the maximum number of I/O point types have upper limits, depending upon the firmware version implemented.

CARDFILE INTERCONNECT CABLES
Interconnects one or more "expansion" assemblies with respective "base" assembly. Specify "U" space separating base and expansion assemblies. "File" count equivalent to sum of (one) base cardfile assembly plus total number of expansion assemblies.
